Crystal Isles is the best map. Crystal isles looks weird to me. Like everything is made of plastic. It looks like a Fairy tail, what doesn't fit arks artstyle, but it still looks great and is something different. +The brighter colours for some reason even make the PvP alphas seem nice. (WHAT THEY STILL AREN'T!)

It's fun to play and a good map for single player. Like Ragnarok it favours higher level dinos. Crystal is everywhere, metal and obsidian are abundant and well spread. There's a great selection of creatures, almost everything from aberration, including ravagers and karkinos. Most everything from Scorched too. The map is BEAUTIFUL.

Crystal Isles = 1 cave. Thats it, rest is just a hole in the groundbto pick the artifact. Valguero has a lot more caves, a free roaming broodmother (!) and a pretty proper underground for abberant zone. CI has the wyverns, which is a huge plus. A lot of interesting spots and pretty landscapes (prettier then the flat or unbuildable Val).

On Ragnarok, the map size is about 140km2 and the total dino pop is about 35000. Crystal Isles has a map size of 150km2 and a population of 40,000. So it's not disportionate as such. However crystal isles is such a dense map with so much vegetation that it can be hard to spot creatures as easily as the other maps.
